Remake, by Boooooooom

I am a massive fan of art made by the public and of creative projects that anyone, officially an artist or not, can participate in.

My first blogpost in this fantastic category ( participatory art?) is Remake.

Booooooom has asked the public to submit reinterpretations of artworks. You can find them all here

These are some of my favourites. They really make me laugh.

My friend Satu and I tried to get people to participate in an interactive project called Doing it differently 100 times over when we went to Colombia, but it never really happened. I think we should relaunch it in a different format. When people are just having a great time on holiday, there’s not much incentive for other people to get involved, is there? It is quite egocentric. Much better when the audience get something out of it too. Like getting their work published.

Loads of people seem to have taken part in Remake, which is soooo fantastic. This really reminds me of Miranda July, who I just have to write about now…
